Gambar Gambar Lucu - But it might be as simple as “Ferrell with director/writer Adam McKay equals funny. Without him, not so much.” We’re talking Talladega Nights, Step Brothers, the live play and TV special You’re Welcome America — A Final Night With George W. Bush, the website Funny Or Die and its hilarious TV spinoff.

Gambar Lucu - So even though we don’t tend to think “hilarious” when we hear the name Mark Wahlberg, we like the odds on The Other Guys, the buddy cop movie with Ferrell and Wahlberg, directed and co-written by McKay. It’s due in August.

Lindsay Sloane (She’s Out of My League) just wrapped The Other Guys. “I play Mark Wahlberg’s girlfriend and I don’t want to be with a cop. So he spends part of the movie trying to win me back while he and Will go on being buddy cops.”

Believe it or not, she says, “they are sooo funny together.”

AND ANOTHER THING: The prequel to John Carpenter’s 1982 The Thing, which we reported on earlier, has come to pass. Shooting started this week in Toronto (good luck with those snowy Antarctic scenes).

Cast includes Mary Elizabeth Winstead — who was in Hogtown just last year filming Scott Pilgrim vs. the World with Michael Cera — as a grad student who clashes with senior scientists over what to do with a crashed alien craft they encounter.

What is it about extraterrestrials and their bad driving?

RECYCLED MOVIES: How soon is too soon to remake a movie?

“You start thinking about a remake after the first weekend’s box office,” jokes legendary producer Richard D. Zanuck.

At least we think he’s kidding. But remakes have been good to Zanuck, whose credits include such classics as Jaws, Driving Miss Daisy and The Verdict. He produced both Tim Burton’s Alice in Wonderland, which has dominated the March box office, and now Clash of the Titans, which opens Thursday.

“There’s some pictures you don’t want to remake because they’re so good and classic, you better not tread in those waters. Pictures that have a lot of scope and are memorable should be remade, I think. There are different generations of audiences you’re dealing with — the people who saw (Clash) and loved it the first time are probably younger than I am now. Hopefully you’ll get those people back and develop a whole new audience.”

Still, even Zanuck concedes Hollywood needs an injection of originality.

“I think there are too many pictures being remade, frankly. I’d like to see more original material hit the screen and not be so dependent on what’s already proven itself. That’s the easy solution, but it’s not always the right one.”

I SPY ANOTHER BAD VIDEO GAME MOVIE: Despite the public’s undeniable apathy towards them, Hollywood continues to trot out movies based on video games. Did Doom teach them nothing? Apparently not.

Warner Bros. is the latest studio hoping to turn Spy Hunter into a film franchise. A decade ago, director John Woo and Dwayne Johnson were circling the property, but nothing ever came of it. By gaming standards, Spy Hunter is ancient, having debuted as an arcade game in 1983.
